Dickens Fans and Theatre Goers!
GINIFICENT return to the iconic St George's Hall in Liverpool this December
with a haunting brand new production of the Charles Dickens timeless novella, A
Christmas Carol. Running from 12th-24th December 2025, this year's production
marks an exciting evolution for the company as they move from the Concert Room,
which has been their home for eight years, into the magnificent Great Hall, presenting
their 23rd consecutive year of performing this beloved ghost story.
This groundbreaking production embraces the darker origins of Dickens' tale, reminding audiences that at its heart, A Christmas Carol is a Gothic ghost story that provides a stark depiction of the social inequalities of Victorian England and through Scrooge we explore a moral lesson about the consequences of greed, highlighting Christmas as “A good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time...the only time...when men and women by one consent to open up their shut-up hearts freely”
With a cast of 14 talented performers, including four musicians creating a live cinematicsoundscape, the audience will be transported back into the very heart of Victorian London's most famous ghost story.
"We're thrilled to be working in the breathtaking Great Hall this year," said Liam Scott,
Director and Producer at GINIFICENT. "The new space allows us to create something
truly special – we have lots of new changes planned and we can’t wait to share them
with our audience."
"For audience members who love Dickens, victorian architecture and gothic literature, just the venue alone will captivate your senses"
Join us for an evening of festivities, upon arrival hear the splendour of the fantastic organ in the Great Hall (Evening shows only) and a live theatre performance by our very talented bunch of actors and musicians. Chapter by chapter, we journey through one of the greatest stories ever written.
The team at GINIFICENT proudly stay true to the book, making it a must see for parents of teenagers studying the novella for GCSE English. English teachers delight in such a powerful resource.
Directed by Clare & Liam Scott.
